Jefferson Davis Hospital
Houston, Tx History- Jefferson Davis Hospital was built in 1924 atop a cemetary dating back to the 1550's. It is estimated that 5-6,000 people are buried on the hospital grounds and the surrounding area. An estimated 3,000 are buried beneath the hospital itself. Jefferson Davis has served as a charity hospital, venereal disease clinic, psychiatric hospital, juvenile detention ward, food stamp distribution center, drug & alcohol rehab, and served as records storage for the Harris County Hospital District. It is rumored to be extremely haunted and is a favored stop on some of the local ghost tours. Please link me if you find a use for this. ~gothika-stock |
